I’ve been on this forum for 20 years give or take and there have always been political threads. Back in the day they were mainly cunting off Blair (not much changed there) and old lefties like me having a dig at Thatcher.
A poster called Sir Bernard Ingham, who purported to be the man himself, once sent me a Whomail (on the back of me slagging Thatcher) so vitriolic it made me wonder if he was the real deal, he really was quite upset!
I’m not sure with the advent of yer social media etc has helped of late, so much fake news and misinformation knocking about, from both side of course, that has made these threads worse but I do enjoy a bit of banter every now and then. :0)
Anyhoo, I love you all and will desist from starting anymore political threads and promise not to correct the Tory sheep when they post unfounded claptrap.

While we're on the subject of what the Threads should be*, what about the WHO debating style?
What should that be?
* - Everybody should be forced to open and read every single post in every single forum twice to make sure that they don't "miss" anything. Responses must (MUST) be made about stuff they're not interested in. "They" will be watching and have cards at the ready for transgressors.

I remember the days when we had Steve P, I-ron,PDC,OMM,Newtons,Vinny,PLW,DaillySMW,Pancho,One Mac etc, and many more, of course we move on and some no longer have the interest as much. Since Gavros, god bless him is no more on here, the new generations use this site for argumental threads on anything in the papers. ITS A FOOTBALL FORUM and for silly threads like Friday Afternoon slurps, lets get close back to something like that, that made this site so amusing

If you don’t like political threads it’s within your gift to ignore them. Try it.
Far far more annoying is when two posters take against one another, and this happens on football threads, to the extent that their argument spoils the thread to the despair of the rest of us.
